NARI 2025: Mapping Women's Safety Across Urban India
NARI 2025, developed by Pvalue Analytics and launched by the National Commission for Women, is India’s first perception-based National Annual Report and Index on Women’s Safety. Based on insights from 12,770 women across 31 cities, the report reveals that 40% of urban women feel “not so safe” or “unsafe” in their cities—especially at night due to poor lighting and lack of visible security.
The study goes beyond official crime statistics to capture the lived realities of women, highlighting widespread street harassment, underreporting of incidents, and gaps in institutional response. Cities like Kohima, Mumbai, and Bhubaneswar ranked among the safest, while Delhi, Patna, and Jaipur were among the least safe.
By integrating data with personal experiences, NARI 2025 offers a data-driven framework for policymakers, corporates, and civil society to build safer, more inclusive urban spaces—aligning with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
